This scaner ist supported under sane. Sine I'm using an amd64 desktop, I see vertical color lines on my scans... it does not look very good. I'm also not satisfied with the quality of the scans.

Installation of Epson's driver under debian

Epson a une page de drivers linux pour ses scanners : http://www.avasys.jp/lx-bin2/linux_e/scan/DL1.do

• tar xvzf iscan_2.10.0-1.tar.gz
• (as root) apt-get install cdbs debhelper libsane-dev libgimp2.0-dev
• cd iscan-2.10.0

Note : dpkg-buildpackage -uc -us does not work.

• modify lib/imgstream.cc and lib/jpegstream.cc to add folowing lines at the beginning:
  • #include <stdio.h>
  • #include <stdlib.h>
• ./configure --prefix=/usr/local
• make

Note make does not work on my amd64 distibution nor on my virtual i386 distribution. French instructions can be found here : http://www.linuxpedia.fr/doku.php/ubuntu/pilote_iscan_pour_scanner_epson_sur_ubuntu_x86-64(approuver les sites) I will go on with these instructions.

• make distclean
• CFLAGS=-fPIC DEFPINS=-fPIC ./configure --with-MPI=lam --target=x86-64-linux
• make
  • Yeay it works !
• (as root) ln -s /usr/lib/sane /usr/local/lib/sane
• (as root) apt-get install checkinstall
• checkinstall
